KERATIN BONDS
Our stylist will select the appropriate keratin bond extensions to match your desired colour, texture, and length. The extensions typically come in strands of 1g, each with a keratin bond at the top. Using a heated fusion tool, the stylist will melt the keratin bond at the top of each extension. They then attach it to a small section of your natural hair, usually near the roots. The melted keratin bond is wrapped around the natural hair and then rolled between the stylist's fingertips to create a secure bond.
The stylist will continue attaching the strands of extensions throughout your head, section by section until the desired amount and style of hair extensions are achieved. The extensions are strategically placed to create a natural look and blend seamlessly with your natural hair.
Keratin bonds are made of natural protein, which mimics the structure of human hair. This results in a seamless blend with your natural hair, providing a realistic and natural-looking finish. When properly applied, the bonds are virtually undetectable, allowing for a flawless appearance.
When installed and maintained correctly, Keratin bond extensions can last for several months. The durable keratin bonds securely attach the extensions to your natural hair, providing longevity compared to some other extension methods. This means you can enjoy your new look for an extended period without frequent replacements.
Keratin bond extensions offer versatility in styling. You can wash, blow-dry, straighten, and curl your hair as usual with these extensions. The bonds are heat-friendly and durable, allowing you to achieve various hairstyles without worrying about damage or slippage.
Keratin bonds come in various lengths, colours, and textures, allowing for customisation to match your natural hair perfectly. Whether you're looking to add length, volume, or highlights, Keratin bonds can be tailored to your desired look, seamlessly blending with your existing hair for a cohesive appearance.
Once installed, Keratin bond extensions require minimal maintenance. Regular brushing and gentle care are needed to keep the extensions tangle-free and in good condition. Unlike clip-in extensions, which need to be removed daily, Keratin bonds offer the convenience of semi-permanent wear, reducing the hassle of constant application and removal.
REASONS TO CHOOSE
KERATIN BONDS
HOW MANY GRAMS OF KERATIN BONDS DO I NEED?
This is the most common question we receive from our clients wanting to get keratin bond extensions.
This question is understandable, as determining the appropriate number of bonds is crucial for achieving the desired volume, length, and overall look. The answer depends on various factors, including the client’s hair type, density, thickness, and desired outcome. During a consultation, we assess these factors to provide personalized recommendations.
For clients with fine or thin hair, fewer keratin bonds may be needed to avoid overwhelming the natural hair and ensure a seamless blend. Conversely, clients with thicker or denser hair may require more bonds to achieve the desired fullness and coverage. Additionally, the length and volume goals play a significant role in determining the number of bonds required.
Clients seeking dramatic transformations or significantly longer hair may need a higher quantity of bonds compared to those looking for subtle enhancements.
At our salon, we take a tailored approach to each client’s needs. We consider factors such as hair length, density, and desired style to determine the optimal number of keratin bonds. During the consultation process, we provide thorough explanations and visual aids to help clients understand the reasoning behind our recommendations. Transparency and open communication are key to ensuring that clients feel confident and informed about their extension choices.
To ensure that clients receive personalised guidance and recommendations specific to their hair type and goals, we recommend booking a free consultation with one of our experienced stylists. This consultation allows us to assess the client’s hair, discuss their desired look, and provide expert advice on the number of keratin bonds needed to achieve their goals

TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF KERATIN BONDS NEEDED FOR YOUR HAIR YOU SHOULD CONSIDER:
Hair Thickness
Thicker hair may require more bonds to ensure proper coverage and support for the extensions.
Desired Volume and Length
If you're looking to add significant volume or length to your hair, you may need more bonds to achieve the desired effect.
Density of Natural Hair
If your natural hair is sparse or fine, you may need fewer bonds, while denser hair may require more bonds for even distribution.
Application Method
Different application methods may require varying amounts of bonds. For example, strand-by-strand applications may require more bonds compared to weft extensions.
Consultation with a Stylist

INSTALL ONLY OPTIONS
Start brushing from the bottom, gently working your way up to remove any tangles. Avoid pulling or tugging on the extensions, as this can cause them to loosen or even come out.
Wash your hair and extensions gently to prevent tangling and shedding. Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, focusing on the roots and avoiding the weft area as much as possible. Rinse thoroughly to remove any product residue.
Apply a leave-in conditioner or a lightweight hair oil to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, avoiding the weft area. This helps keep the extensions moisturised and prevents them from becoming dry or brittle.
Allow your hair and extensions to air dry whenever possible. If you need to use heat styling tools, use a heat protectant spray and set them to a low or medium heat setting. Avoid applying direct heat to the weft area to prevent damage.
When styling your hair, be gentle and avoid using excessive force or tension on the weft area. Avoid tight hairstyles, such as high ponytails or tight updos, that can pull on the extensions.
Schedule regular maintenance appointments with your hairstylist who installed the extensions. They can check the condition of the weft and reposition any loose or slipping extensions. It's essential to address any maintenance issues promptly to avoid further damage.
Depending on your growth, we suggest booking a weft pull-up every 6-8 weeks.
